This revolutionary material leaves no harmful traces on our planet. Now, we are looking for a visionary Project Engineer to accelerate our journey from pilot to prominence.
Your Role: Driving force for economy, quality, and innovation—from pilot project to industry plant
As a process engineer, you will play a key role in scaling our technology from a small pilot plant to a fully continuous industry plant. Your expertise in scale-up, process development, analytics, and analysis methods will drive the development of innovative solutions that position traceless as the undisputed market leader for compostable biomaterials.
Your contribution: - Scale-up & Technical trials: You will design, plan, and manage trials on your own initiative to evaluate and select suitable machines, equipment & potential supplier. Before starting the trials, you will define target values and parameters to be evaluated.
- Continuous quality: You will play a key role in scaling up our technology from pilot to industrial scale and will learn all the sub-processes down to the smallest detail in order to identify potential influences on quality at an early stage.
- Process development: You will introduce new or adapted processes into production and support product development and our quality team in translating requirements into production processes.
- Down-scaling: You enable the challenges of production to be replicated in the laboratory and use your analytical thinking to identify meaningful correlations.
- Economic analysis: You support the further optimization of our processes and try to make them even more economical.

Your profile
- Education: You have a degree in (bio)process engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field that provides you with a solid foundation in the principles of process engineering. Alternatively, you have completed training as a chemical technician, BTA, or CTA.
- Professional experience & scale-up knowledge:At least 5 years of experience in process engineering, ideally with the transfer of wet chemical or biomass processes to industrial scale.
- Passion for process engineering: You understand complex processes and enjoy analyzing and improving them.
- Analytics & data: Whether quality measurement or process data – you use modern analytics, draw the right conclusions, and develop clever optimizations.
- Test planning & practical approach: You plan and carry out tests independently and also lend a hand with the practical implementation.
- Initiative: You take ownership of your topics and drive them reliably to completion.
- Team spirit: You enjoy working with others, bring a sense of humor, and take responsibility within the team.
- Sustainability mindset: You think in systems, striving for efficient and resource-saving solutions.
- Hands-on mentality: You tackle challenges directly and find pragmatic ways to get things done.
- Communication & organization: You communicate expectations clearly, stay organized, and approach conflicts constructively.

About us
traceless is a young company - with a big vision: a future free of pollution and waste! Our award-winning company was founded in Hamburg in 2020 by our female founding duo Anne and Johanna. By now we are a diverse team from different disciplines, ages and twelve nationalities, united by our common mission: to contribute to solving plastic pollution and build the regenerative industry of the future. To achieve this, we are working to bring our materials to market quickly and to build our first large-scale production facility in Hamburg-Harburg.
